they melt my heart

Kids.
They melt my heart every day.
Even on the bad days.

This past Sunday up in Kid City (@ GCC) we were talking about forgiveness.
We talked about Zacchaeus and how Jesus forgave him.
It changed his life.

So the kids were given an opportunity to forgive someone.
Think of someone who has hurt them.
Think of someone who has done something harmful.
....someone who needs forgiveness.

Then they could write that person's name on a piece of paper and throw it in a bucket.
Forgive them.

I was amazed.
Simply amazed.
The response was breathtaking.

I watched as child after child walked ran up to fill out a piece of paper and forgive someone.
We even had a few of the younger kids in our class bring paper back and ask for help.

Beautiful.

Then today...

In Bible, we've been talking about the resurrection.
Today's story was about the day Jesus went back up to Heaven.

We then had devotions about Heaven.
We talked about how there's no road up to Heaven...
Jesus has to come down and take us up to Heaven.

We followed this up with a "special prayer."
During this time I pray a special prayer and some days the kids ask to pray a special prayer as well.

Today was one of those "special prayer days."
And this is the first special prayer I heard:

Dear Jesus,
Thank you for our food and help us to be good and I want you to come get us and take us up to Heaven with you.
Amen.

So like I said...
they make my heart melt.

Happy Wednesday!
